The Purpose Behind Our Passion

We exist to support, empower, and uplift Vietnamese women at every stage of life; whether they are newly arrived, building a career, raising families, or growing a business. We understand the unique challenges of navigating a new environment while preserving cultural identity, and we are committed to creating a space where women feel seen, supported, and confident to thrive.

About-us-Image2

Our purpose is to foster a strong, inclusive community where women can connect meaningfully, share experiences, and access opportunities for personal and professional growth. Through cultural events, networking initiatives, and community programs, we celebrate Vietnamese heritage while helping women integrate and succeed in Western Australia.

About-us-Image3

We are equally passionate about supporting businesses and encouraging entrepreneurship. By creating platforms for visibility, collaboration, and promotion, we help women turn ideas into sustainable ventures and strengthen the broader community.

At the heart of everything we do is a simple belief: when women are supported, communities flourish.

During my practice as Immigration and Family Lawyer, I have had the opportunities to meet many Vietnamese migrant women who are facing the difficulties in their life’s settlement due to their limited English level and lack of the knowledge in law. Therefore, Western Australia Vietnamese Women’s Association has been established with its objectives to assist the Vietnamese women.

I strongly believe that we would complete our missions satisfactorily!

Huyen Phan

Vice-president

I’m currently a lecturer at Curtin University. I’m also a project leader. This role gives me some management skills.

Through my work experience, I was lucky to travel places and meet different people from various cultural backgrounds which makes me understand them better and appreciate their cultures. I feel very honour to be a committee member of Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association as it’s an opportunity to let people know the beauty of Vietnamese women, to promote healthy lifestyle to our members and to equip them with useful knowledge.

I can see myself benefit a lot from the association’s activities too. I hope the activities will bring Vietnamese women closer to WA diverse communities and make us part of the broader society.

Thanh Cawthorne

Treasurer

I was formerly a business owner in the Oil and Gas services industry in Vung Tau Province, Vietnam. Alongside my professional journey, I have always nurtured a deep passion for sports, particularly Golf, which has taught me discipline, resilience, and balance in life.

After completing my Diploma of Beauty Therapy at TAFE in Perth, I founded and now proudly own LA BEAUTÉ BAR, a beauty salon dedicated to enhancing confidence and promoting holistic well-being. As a beauty specialist, I am passionate about helping people look and feel their best, both inside and out.

In addition to my work in the beauty industry, I am also part of a global network distributing skincare and wellness products across more than 50 countries. Through this journey, I have had the privilege of supporting many individuals in building self-confidence, improving their skin health, and embracing healthier lifestyles.

As a Committee Member and Treasurer of the Western Australian Vietnamese Women’s Association Inc., I am deeply committed to empowering Vietnamese women to discover both their inner and outer beauty, while encouraging them to lead healthier, more prosperous, and more fulfilling lives.

“True beauty begins with confidence, and confident women create extraordinary communities.”
